Our mission is to provide executive leadership, as well as set priorities and goals for the City and its neighbourhoods.
A Brief Introduction to Us
Welcome to a Personal Political Website!
The Mayor's role as the executive of strategic authority is to promote economic development and wealth creation, social development, and improvement of the environment. The Mayor also has various other duties in relation to culture and tourism, including a responsibility for the city and its government.
I am involved in several campaigns to increase international solidarity between workers here in the UK and those in Turkey and the Kurdistan regions. As part of this, I have organised delegations of representatives from Unite the Union and GMB to visit Turkey, the Kurdistan Region in Iraq and Rojava region in Syria to learn and strengthen bonds.
I founded CEFTUS in 2011 to build bridges between the UK and Turkey and the region. Today we provide an open forum to promote debate and knowledge-sharing on foreign affairs, economic issues and social developments in Turkey. We also host an annual community achievement awards to mark the exceptional contribution of the Turkish diaspora in Britain.
I work hard to give a voice to the amazing kebab sector, speaking up for kebab restaurants and takeaways on a range of issues, from training and employment to supply chain and regulations for small business. I hope to be a champion for the benefits of kebabs – to individual consumers, to local communities and to the wider British economy.
I am the convener of the annual British Kebab Awards, in association with JUST EAT. This is a space to celebrate and enjoy kebabs in all their forms, as well as recognise the very best kebab takeaways and restaurants in the country. It’s a truly Kebab-ulous evening.
I set up Kurdish Progress to provide a space for debate on the interconnected issues for all four parts of Kurdistan and their significance to the UK. Its aim is to highlight the role the Kurdish people play in communities across the country, and also offer a neutral platform for discussion on the future of Kurds and their place in the world.

What People Say About Me
“We believe that, to bring our economic and social life to a new level, we must use non-standard and non-traditional means in our work. Tomorrow depends on your choice. And we have the best people to make sure it doesn’t disappoint.”
“How can we get our country back on track? How to preserve our Constitution? All these core questions have been evolving in our minds for years. And now we have the answers. We stand behind our promise to protect people’s rights.”
“Whenever I meet Jack Well, I say: “There’s so much you can do, but, boy, could we use a mayor like you around these parts!” Jack has faithfully served our city and our country for years now, so my vote definitely goes to him!”
