I’ve always been a passionate believer that members are the most important part of our movement and that we should never stop looking for new ways to grow our party. That’s why last year, along with Ed Balls MP, Ken Livingstone and Joanne Mccartney AM, I organised a membership recruitment drive here in Enfield Southgate.

There was a fantastic response from the local community and many people joined the Labour Party as a result. Many of them were joining a political party for the first time, because they are angry about the damage Tory and Lib Dem cuts are doing to local services in Enfield and they want to make sure that we elect a Labour MP at the next General Election.

If selected to fight Enfield Southgate for Labour I’m determined to build one of the most open and inclusive campaigns in the country. Recruiting even more new members will be a key part of achieving this. You can find out more about my plans for Enfield Southgate on my pledges page, by clicking here.
